Hi! My name is Deborah Nyangulu and I was born at the Top hospital in the lush green of Zomba plateau. I am a scholar and my research, teaching, and writing centre questions that require creativity and thinking beyond the confines of disciplinary and cultural boundaries. I am currently working on my Postdoctoral monograph project (Habilitationsschrift) at the Research Training Group (RTG) on Contradiction Studies at the University of Bremen. Follow the link to read the synopsis for my Habil., which I am completing under the working title, Masamba aMchezo a.k.a. Pages of Play: Transception and AI-Integrated Social Media Cultures. Before joining Bremen, I worked at the University of Münster as a lecturer, researcher, and Student Advisor for the MA Program National and Transnational Studies: Literature, Language, Culture. I read for a PhD in English Philology at the University of Münster with a thesis on Big Man Aesthetics: Masculinity, Power, and Contemporary African Literature (WWU Münster 2019). I hold an MA in National and Transnational Studies: Literature, Language, Culture from the University of Münster and a BA in Humanities (Literatures in English and Classics) from the University of Malawi. Prior to working in academia, I worked as a journalist with the Times Group (formerly Blantyre Newspapers Ltd.) and wrote the column, This World Around Me, which ran in The Sunday Times. As an upcoming fiction writer I have published two short stories, The First Daughter’s Fall and Nyauhango. Visit my publications page for the list and some PDFs of my publications☞
